After I decided that I wanted to add a CNC Router / Mill to our companies capabilities I began doing research on the subject. While our companies main focus is metal work, welding and CNC plasma cutting we wanted to have the capability to make some custom parts and work with wood on occasion instead of contracting the work out.
This project will document our journey through the process of getting started with a CNC Router / Mill and what we find works and does not work along the way. While this system is a small bench top version the concepts here will be the same on larger tables.
Here are the components we have selected for our system.
We have been researching and slowly selecting components over the last few months trying to find the best products we can and keep the project budget friendly.
This picture shows the components that we have picked and received thus far.
At the moment we are still waiting on our Electronics package and drive motors from CandCNC to come in. We selected the Bladerunner 3 package to run this system.
